Saying "we believe you" to self-perceived victims is not the same as saying that the perpetrator is guilty. It's a tricky issue but do bear in mind the context.
Rape convictions in the UK are at a record low. The statistics vary, but the conviction rate is typically around 5%. That's compared to a general conviction rate of about 87%.
Of course not all men are sexual predators and not all women are innocent. However, the balance of who is being heard needs to change. We have a culture in the UK, in schools and in general, of toxic male masculinity. From reading your experiences, things have definitely changed since I was at school, some 25+ years ago, but as a society, we're not there yet.
If its any consolation, I also went to a boys only school, and it set me up up for a lifetime of difficulty with women! That's another discussion though.
