I don’t know my dad so can’t comment on how I would feel about sharing a liking for getting wet and muddy.
Your thoughts about your mum and how she loved you hit a nerve and bought tears to my eyes - and me an unemotional teen - as I feel the same about my dad. Honestly, I really don’t ever want to meet him and don’t care how he feels about me - in fact I’m pretty sure he doesn’t feel anything about me, I think of him as being dead, which he probably is from what little I know about his drug addled life. I certainly hope so anyway. Nasty, but true. That’s not really me in any other situation, by the way, just with him.
